Vox Humanis Polyphonic Choir, representing Türkiye and Şanlıurfa at the World Choir Games 2026 held in Sweden, achieved a remarkable international success by earning the highest score in its category and claiming the world championship title.
Supported by Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality, Vox Humanis is composed of volunteers living in Şanlıurfa and students from Harran University. The choir represented the city on one of the world’s most prestigious choral stages, in an international event bringing together more than 160 choirs and over 8,500 singers from more than 40 countries.
The world championship award was received by Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mehmet Kasım Gülpınar, together with Vox Humanis and its founder and conductor, Dr. Fırat Altun.
“This achievement is a great source of pride for both Türkiye and Şanlıurfa,” Mayor Gülpınar said, highlighting the significance of the choir’s success on the international stage.
Mayor Mehmet Kasım Gülpınar also attended the event in Sweden, sharing this proud moment with the choir as Şanlıurfa’s cultural richness and musical identity resonated once again on the world stage.
