''ENVIRONMENTAL LEADER AWARD'' TO MAYOR BEYAZGÜL FROM SOUTH KOREA ASSEMBLY

At the 2022 International Leadership Awards Ceremony held at the National Assembly of South Korea, 'Environmental Leader Award' was given to Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeynel Abidin Beyazgül.

At the 2022 International Leadership Awards Ceremony held at the National Assembly of South Korea, 'Environmental Leader Award' was given to Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeynel Abidin Beyazgül. Mayor of Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Zeynel Abidin Beyazgül said that the greatest treasure to be left to future generations is the environment.

Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeynel Abidin Beyazgül was given the 'Environmental Leader Award' by the SNS Federation at the 2022 International Leadership Awards Ceremony held at the South Korean National Assembly.

The works of Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality, which won the appreciation of the public with environmentally sensitive works, were published in the ceremony at the South Korean National Assembly.

Mayor of Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Zeynel Abidin Beyazgül addressed the deputies and participants at the ceremony in the South Korean National Assembly with a video message filmed in Şanlıurfa. Mayor of Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Zeynel Abidin Beyazgül explained the works on environment.

MAYOR BEYAZGÜL, ''THE MOST ROOTED CITY OF THE WORLD, SANLIURFA''

Stating that Şanlıurfa ranks first among the most rooted cities of the world, Mayor of Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Zeynel Abidin Beyazgül said, "I would like to thank Yong-Doo, Kim President of SNS Federation and his team. I would like to express my gratitude for presenting the 2022 International Environmental Leader Award to me. Şanlıurfa is a city with the most rooted history of the world with its 12 thousand years of history. Beautiful cities are possible not only with beautiful buildings, squares, streets and avenues, but also by reflecting the beauty of one's own soul to the city. Cities have a soul, a personality. This spirit is the common spirit of those living in the city. Our most important goal is to establish a city that refreshes us, increases our peace of mind, increases our excitement and makes those living there happy. Happiness is contagious and spreads beauty. Our goal is more green and more investment for this. We have made significant progress in environmental protection activities in order to eliminate environmental problems.

MAYOR BEYAZGÜL, ''WE CREATED GREEN AREAS BY PRESERVING THE HISTORICAL TEXTURE''

Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeynel Abidin Beyazgül, who explained that services continue in the city with the understanding of environmental awareness and green-friendly municipality, mentioned the landscaping work of the castle skirt, municipality tea garden, Kızılkoyun Necropolis garden, Kızılay square, environmental cleaning in Bozova with 1200 young people within the scope of the project "If we change, the climate does not change". He also said that we are preparing our "Local Climate Change Action Plan" in line with the Paris Climate Agreement. In addition, we signed the "Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy' Commitment for Climate and Energy" and started the membership process to (Gcom). We attach particular importance to recycling for a better tomorrow. We are a sensitive municipality in terms of raising environmental awareness, efficient use of resources and waste separation. We protect natural resources and contribute to energy saving with the projects we realise.

MAYOR BEYAZGÜL, ''ENVIRONMENT IS THE GREATEST ANCESTRAL HERITAGE''

Underlining that the greatest treasure is the ancestral heritage of the environment, Mayor Beyazgül said, "When the last river dries up, the last tree disappears, the last fish dies, mankind will realise that money is inedible." Our environment is our ancestral heritage, our mother's lap, our only treasure. The heirs of this treasure are our children and the whole human family. We must protect our environment in order to live a cleaner and livable life.
